Hello there.

I’m Jenn. While this is a new website (launched in May 2025), I’m basically rebranding ideas I’ve had for a long time.

I majored in English because it never occurred to me to major in anything else. I’d wanted to be a writer since I learned how to read.

Shameless nerd fact: I still have a glass frog I won in a second-grade spelling bee by spelling the word “amphibian.”

Throughout college I worked at my university’s writing center, which taught me far more about writing than I can fit into a few paragraphs here. Twenty years later, it’s still one of the best jobs I’ve ever had.

Since then, I honed my skills working with all kinds of writing: standardized tests, marketing materials, blog posts, school board meeting minutes, pet food packaging, employment policies… You name it!

Now that I’m a parent, I find myself passionately advocating for clearer communication with my children’s elementary school. If I ever run for a school board seat, my platform will include a war on empty webpages and indecipherable jargon. Who’s with me?

My Values

I believe that strategic writing starts with an open mind and a genuine interest in learning. Otherwise, what’s the point?

Curiosity

Pragmatism

I believe that effective strategic writing is down-to-earth. It considers user experience first.

Precision

I believe that strategic writing takes discipline. Fact-checking and proofreading are vital parts of the work.

I believe that strategic writing is a collaborative process that involves active listening, flexibility, teamwork, and a sense of shared purpose. It is not about one person manifesting a masterpiece in a fever dream of inspiration, although that does sound pretty awesome.

Collaboration

I believe that strategic writing should be both honest and specific. The world already has enough faceless AI slop.

Authenticity
